At the end of an unequal duel, Don Giovanni kills the Commander whose daughter he was courting. While nothing seems to dissuade him from constantly challenging the restrictions of his time, his appetite for life, his freedom and his insolence make him a definite scandal. Not least in the eyes of his valet - Leporello - who is at once frightened, desperate and admiring of his master's excesses, as well as the purveyor of his desires.
What follows is a succession of confrontations, sometimes tragic, sometimes buffoonish, between the dependent and contradictory truths embodied by these two characters.
