Nuit des Musées - Château départemental de Pierre-de-Bresse
Built in the 17th century by Claude de Thiard de Bissy on the site of a former seigniorial stronghold, Pierre-de-Bresse castle and its grounds remained in the hands of his descendants until 1956, when it was acquired by the Saône-et-Loire General Council. The castle was then acquired by the General Council of Saône-et-Loire, and the buildings as a whole have since undergone a major programme of work. The public can now discover permanent exhibitions evoking, illustrating and explaining the natural environment, history, aspects of traditional life and the current economic and social situation of Burgundy's Bresse region.
