Myrias, Chants et musiques anciennes et traditionnelles de l’Orient et de l’Occident du Moyen Âge
Myrias is a duo of voices and ancient instruments, led by Marie Flamme and Ameylia Saad Wu. They draw their inspiration from the ancient and traditional music of the East and West from the Middle Ages. Their varied origins in Scandinavia, the East, the Balkans and Europe offer a comprehensive vision of the musical landscape of the second half of the Middle Ages, with its many varied and complementary facets.
Marie Potosniak
Singer and cellist Marie Flamme is a specialist in bowed viols and Balkan and Scandinavian vocal techniques. She has worked with leading folk and medieval music ensembles such as Niflheim and Les Derniers Trouvères.
The multi-disciplinary projects of this polymorphous artist, influenced by the myth of the Siren, have won her several awards, including two Trophies awarded by the Association pour l'Histoire Vivante and the Fédération Française des Fêtes et Spectacles Historiques at the Fous d'Histoire festival in Compiègne.
The year 2024 began for Marie with her qualification for the springboard
The Voice 2024, where her rendition of a Viking song (Sacrifice) won over the 2 coaches, Mika and Zazie.
Ameylia Saad-Wu
Of Sino-Lebanese origin, Ameylia Saad Wu grew up on Reunion Island and immersed herself in the different local cultures. She went on to divide her time between France and Italy, obtaining a degree in musicology from the Université de Provence, and 3rd and 4th cycle diplomas in classical harp (CFEM), Celtic harp (CFEM, DEM) and lyrical singing (CFEM, DEM, Perfectionnement, Diploma di Canto) from the Conservatoire Darius Milhaud in Aix-en-Provence, the Conservatoire National de Région in Marseille and the Conservatoire Verdi in Milan.
A prize-winner in international competitions, she has been invited as a soprano and harpist to numerous festivals and cultural events in Europe and the Middle East.
A candidate in "The Voice Arabia" season 5 over several stages, she stood out in the blind auditions, with the 4 coaches turning their attention to her performance combining "The Mummers' dance" by Loreena Mc Kennitt and "le 5ème Elément" by Eric Serra.
In 2023, as a trio, Myrias was chosen to perform at the French Institute of Iraq in Baghdad and in Mosul as part of the Heritage Music Festival.
