Discovering the Châtenay sand pit
Who would have thought that at the end of Impasse de la Sablière, in Sainte-Croix-en-Bresse, there was a natural quarry where the inhabitants of the hamlet of Châtenay used to live?
In the company of Eric Prual, a geologist from Romenay, Fabrice Ronget, a naturalist guide from "Ludi-Nature" in Sainte-Croix-en-Bresse, and the d'Artagnan association, set off to discover this little-known site, which is part of our natural, built and cultural heritage.
Departure at 9.30am from the hamlet of Châtenay (signposted parking area) for a free guided walk lasting around 2 hours (2km). Bring closed shoes.
