Grand Air de Bresse 2025 - Festival et Académie des musiques

We're a non-profit-making association under the law of 1901 that organises a week-long festival and academy of classical and jazz music in Bresse Bourguignonne every year at the beginning of July.
It all started with Alain Doulé and François Chavaudret, followed by Johan Farjot, who had a crazy idea: to create a music festival in Saint Germain du Plain that would invite classical, opera and jazz artists to meet the people of the village and the surrounding area...
Quickly joined by friends from Saint Germain du Plain, Alain, François and Johan put together the first Saint Germain du Plain Music Festival in 2022, featuring exceptional artists brought together by Johan and accompanied by brilliant members of the PSL (Université Paris Sciences et Lettres) student choir.
It's a simple formula that's repeated every year: a four-day festival from Thursday to Sunday, with a concert every evening, two concerts on Saturday afternoon for children (and their parents) and the elderly residents of the Ehpad, and a concert on Sunday morning before church, featuring brilliant, passionate young artists with infectious enthusiasm.
All these ingredients make this an event not to be missed, because the music is beautiful, the artists are accessible and the region is welcoming.
In 2025, not only the festival, but also an academy of talented young musicians and their teachers, will take place from 2 to 6 July, and we look forward to a colourful 4th edition: a concert at the farm on Wednesday 2 July, Karine Deshayes and the great voices of the repertoire on Thursday 3 July, Hugh Coltman and the jazz format of the 70s on Saturday 5 July, and so much more under the guidance of our brilliant and friendly artistic director and conductor, Johan Farjot.
