Fête du Musée de l'imprimerie
From Wednesday 12 to Friday 14 August 2026
Every day
Friday 14 August 2026
To mark the 40th anniversary of the Louhans Printing Museum, the Écomusée de la Bresse Bourguignonne is organising three days of activities, discoveries and encounters centred on the craft of printing. This event also marks an important milestone ahead of the museum’s temporary closure for renovation work.
Self-guided tours of the museum and guided tours at 10.00 and 11.00.
Demonstrations and printing sessions of the day: Throughout the day, discover traditional printing techniques and take home your own creations:
Printing a card on a replica of Gutenberg’s press
Printing an alphabet poster and/or a museum souvenir poster using a proofing press
Printing a souvenir card on the 1888 Boston press
Every afternoon, it’s time to get creative! Workshops run continuously from 2 pm to 5 pm.

Create your own bookmark using type, stamps and vignettes from the museum
Make your own sheet of paper
Thursday 13 August: Typefaces and posters

Create your own old-fashioned advertising poster using typefaces, ornaments and printing inks
Friday 14 August: Printed Nature

Friday 14 August at 7.00 pm: An informal evening at the print shop
For this anniversary evening, the volunteer printers will open the museum’s doors and invite you to enjoy a convivial evening amongst the presses and the craftsmanship that form the very soul of the place.
On this occasion, three iconic figures from the museum will be present to share memories, anecdotes and their passion for printing:
Claude Barbier, volunteer and long-standing printer at the museum;
Pierre Gauthey, a legendary volunteer and passionate printer;
Dominique Rivière, curator of the Printing Museum for over thirty years.
A warm and welcoming gathering to celebrate forty years of history, knowledge-sharing and living heritage.
