"Is there any idea more mysterious to an artist than that of how nature is reflected in the eye of an animal?" Franz Marc.
"My work is a whole. The paintings I am exhibiting are entirely dedicated to celebrating animal life.
Animals have the power to make us question our relationship with Nature, which we mistreat. Today, more than ever, it is urgent that we rethink our connection with animals.
For me, painting animals means capturing a presence, a gaze, a raw emotion. It is a visceral act that connects me to the essential. My challenge is to build an emotional bridge between the animal and the viewer.
To achieve this, my painting style is simple and smooth. I use very little texture or impasto. I try to create depth through colour, shadow and light. As I am entirely self-taught, my painting may appear naïve or even clumsy, but I nevertheless hope that my animals will speak to you."
