As part of the commemoration of 8 May, the Mémoire de Sornay association, in collaboration with the Mairie de Sornay, will be presenting its exhibition in the town's socio-cultural hall.
We will be presenting our 9 exhibition panels on life in Sornay and the Liberation at the beginning of September 1944. But above all, we'll be exclusively presenting an original postcard from 1945, written by a Sornay woman to a Canadian, announcing the armistice. The descendants of the young Canadian girl were generous enough to entrust this exceptional document to Mémoire de Sornay, along with period photos of the two correspondents, and the whole thing will be exhibited on this occasion before it enters the collections of the Écomusée de la Bresse.
