From the Morvan to the Alps, the musicians of Chœur Ôka reclaim a traditional repertoire and oral, rural and popular cultures full of verve.
You only have to really listen to the past to realise that it stretches as far as the ear can hear, and that its musical and poetic resources are far from exhausted. This is the conviction that underpins the reinterpretation of our rural heritage by the L'Oreille en Friche collective. Carrouge ("crossroads" in Old French) is a lively force, a programme tailor-made for the eight female pioneers of the Okâ choir. The fertile traditional background of Burgundy and the Alps feeds their polyphonic verve, sublimating the full range of their brilliance in stories as inventive as they are rough, of ghosts, clear fountains, the wind that blows, women...
