4th Inter-biennale des arts de Cuiseaux with two events:
André Siegel, 56 years of collecting contemporary art
The collector has been immersed in the art world since childhood. His first job was in church steeples, then as a gallery assistant, then as manager of an art centre in Colmar, and many other activities in the world of contemporary art. He has also been the curator of the Cuiseaux Biennials since 2020.
Among the artists on show are works by his closest friends, including Ernest Pignon Ernest, Anne and Patrick Poirier, Nils Udo and others, which form the basis of an exhibition of over 200 works.
Art and Nature with Anne Mangeot
In connection with the works of NILS UDO, a German visual artist and one of the pioneers of "Land art", the associated public are invited to create works on the theme of "Art and Nature". All the works created will be exhibited during the Inter Biennial. More than a thousand people are taking part, including young people from the local Mission, the elderly, people with disabilities and many groups of amateur artists who have formed for the occasion.
The association offers these very diverse groups the assistance of artist Olivier Bouvard and the advice of Art et Nature artist Anne Mangeot, who is in residence at Cuiseaux.
As part of her residency, the artist will create several works that will be exhibited in the public space.
Her works do not imitate nature, but reveal more abstract forms. Everything is designed according to an exacting rule, with not one line or branch too many. These volumes, real 3D drawings, are the opposite of chatter, and express a poetry full of lightness and solidity. These are propositions that should spark the imagination of every visitor.
