Une ferme florale à Simandre

Marielle Porcheret (Madame printemps) has been living in Simandre since 2023, where she is developing a new life project with her edible and bouquet flowers.
She invites us to talk about her work, with Caroline Breton's film "La ferme florale de Camille" (Camille's flower farm) and a tasting of her infusions.
Camille is a farm manager in Pont-de-Salars, Aveyron. She grows flowers on 7,000 m2 of land at an altitude of 800 m. For the last 5 years, with the occasional help of her farmer husband, she has taken the gamble of planting local, seasonal flowers without pesticides. Throughout the year, Camille's flower farm, "le Jardin de Veillac", gets organised: the installation of an extra greenhouse, the sowing, the preparation of the soil, the woven tarpaulins to be cleaned, a visit from a flower-growing friend in Morlaix, the harvest, the bouquets, and finally, the stand at the Rodez market on Saturday mornings, where the flowers reveal their beauty and scatter around the town!
After the show, Marielle will be inviting us to a discussion to find out more about the profession of flower grower, and to ask questions about flower production, seasonality and ethical production.
