"En grandes pompes" is a joyful show that allows us to laugh collectively about death and confront our fears and taboos on the subject.
Catrine, a colourful, conscientious character at the end of her tether, urges the audience to take responsibility for the place of death in our society. She offers a funeral refresher course. What follows is a massive unloading of funerary urns, a course in mortuary grooming, a cleansing of badly digested emotions and a frenzied handling of post-mortem complaints. It's a show that takes an offbeat approach to the subject of death, allowing us to reclaim this aspect of life that concerns us all at one time or another.
