This fortified medieval village with two entrance gates dating back to the 14th century has preserved its old houses with their half-timbering and corbelling, along with farms with cheminées sarrasines, or behatted chimneys. Romenay was renowned for its folklore and heritage, and in 1937, was promoted to the ranks of 'Village Rural de France' (French Rural Village), at the Paris Universal Exhibition.
The Champ Bressan’s Farm, is one of fiew buildings with agricultural vocation, which is classified as “historic monument”, is a museum of France.
The “Maison penchée” is a Workshop and an art gallery in an house dating back to the 16th century.
