Statue-de-d-Artagnan---Sainte-Croix-en-BressePlaque dans l'église - Sainte-Croix-en-Bresse
For 30 years now, the volunteers of the d'Artagnan association have enjoyed sharing their passion for the history of Sainte-Croix-en-Bresse and the life of Anne-Charlotte de Chanlecy, wife of the famous musketeer d'Artagnan.
As part of the European Heritage Days, they will be welcoming you to visit the Espace d'Artagnan and the church.
This year, there will also be a talk at 3pm in the Salle des Fêtes. It will be given by Benoît Millet on the theme of "La Dombes, un trait d'union avec la couronne de France. La Grande Demoiselle".
Admission is free throughout the weekend.

"The Dombes, a link with the crown of France".
Her Serene Highness the Sovereign Princess of Dombes, Anne-Marie Louise d'Orléans, was also a great memoirist: in her Memoirs, she recounted her wild and disappointed love affair with a gentleman of the Court.
The marriage of the Grande Mademoiselle, Duchess of Montpensier, the most eligible man in the kingdom, to Antonin Nompar de Caumont, Marquis de Puyguilhem, aka M. de Lauzun, required the authorisation of her royal cousin, Louis XIV. To obtain it, she offered her beautiful principality of Dombes and the county of Eu in Normandy to the French crown.
Her Memoirs, regularly republished, shed light on life at court and on her personal life: they reveal an exceptional woman. This work is an essential testimony to feminine sensibility in the 17th century.
It is the story of this "hyphen" that Bernard Millet will tell. A native of Aindin by adoption and a former secondary school principal, Bernard Millet is an Academician of the Dombes region, a member of the Société d'Émulation de l'Ain and the Institut Saint-Benoît, patron saint of Europe. He is also a volunteer with RCF Pays de l'Ain and the Mouvement Chrétien des Retraités.
