Gaec La Gauloise Noire
La ferme la gauloise noire is located in Huilly sur Seille, a small village in the Bresse Louhanaise region.
A small peasant farm where animal welfare and common sense are the key words for our production.
We produce chickens and eggs from an old breed of hens native to our Bresse Louhannaise region, as well as free-range quails and their eggs.
The Gallic black is one of the oldest French breeds known as "la noire de Louhans", which was once bred for its eggs and meat. It has been forgotten and has almost totally disappeared in favour of more commercial strains.
Thanks to a few enthusiasts and the Bresse Gauloise club, it has been saved, and there are still a few specimens among private individuals who love this breed.
Our breeding is on a human scale
the hens are free to come and go as they please!
The eggs are collected, graded and stamped by hand. Nothing is automated, neither the handling of the eggs nor the care of the hens.
The hens do not receive any antibiotics or other treatments. Their feed is certified GMO-free and the outside run is not treated in any way.
The production is sold directly to private individuals but also to associations, small grocery shops and restaurants, all of whom are looking for quality products.
All eggs are sold extra fresh from 1 to 5 days after laying.
That's it for the presentation, the type of production and the type of breeding that we practice.
Eat well, eat good, eat healthy.
Charlène and Morgan.
