Un Soir de Swing is a gypsy jazz trio made up of guitarist Youri Félix, a pump-rocker with a formidable drive and a career to match, and Djanito Félix, a virtuoso soloist whose very personal interpretation of gypsy music adds a new dimension to the trio. Father and son are at the service of the music, sensitive and accurate, with just the right amount of energy, nuance and frenzied rhythms. They are backed up on double bass by Julien Pennec, whose perfect groove and impeccable technique play an important rhythmic role.
Based around Django's gypsy jazz, with a gypsy section, arranged excerpts from the French chanson repertoire and the very fine compositions of Youri Félix, this trio, armed with an irresistible swing, also likes to improvise on traditional Central European tunes.
